From one room to a 24/6 operation

2017 — One Room

It started small

Families would come into one room and take the food that was available.

During / After COVID

Drive-through

As demand grew, the operation moved to a drive-through system.

The Friday Distribution

100+ families in one day

More than 100 families came through on Fridays; at peak, waits could reach ~30 minutes.

Families began privately selecting the food their household actually needs.

Today

Scheduled custom orders

Private custom orders, live inventory, individual fulfillment and 24/6 food rescue. Friday is now just a smaller last-minute selection.

Built on chesed, run with precision

Zeh L'Zeh began in 2017 with food being distributed from one small room. Under the leadership of Rabbi Sholom Rokeach, it has grown into a large 24/6 food-rescue operation serving hundreds of families with privacy, choice and dignity.

Most of the food is donated — but moving $10.5M+ of food a year takes real infrastructure: staff, refrigeration, utilities, software, paper goods, fulfillment, equipment, transportation, maintenance and volunteer coordination.

Zeh L'Zeh runs almost twenty large double- and triple-door refrigerators and freezers to keep rescued food fresh. Additional walk-in capacity is urgently needed to keep growing.
