Zeh L’Zeh Rescue — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Zeh L’Zeh Rescue mobile app
(the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The App is operated by
Congregation Zeh L’Zeh, a New York 501(c)(3) nonprofit, from Monsey, NY.

Who this policy applies to

Anyone who signs into the App as a volunteer driver, participating store/supplier,
or coordinator.

What information we collect

• Account information you provide when you sign up — first and last
  name, phone number, email address, home address or general neighborhood, vehicle
  information, and preferred contact times.
• Location data — only when you opt in via the “Share your location”
  toggle. GPS coordinates are used to show open pickups near you and to let the
  office see driver positions on the live dispatch map. Location sharing stops as
  soon as you close the App and can be turned off at any time.
• Activity data — the pickups you sign up for, complete, or release;
  the miles and minutes captured for each trip; the store you picked up from. Used to
  show you your personal metrics and to give the office an accurate record for
  reporting and mileage reimbursement.
• Messages — the content of chats you send in-app to the office,
  donors, or co-drivers on a specific pickup.
• Device information — a push-notification token issued by Apple
  Push Notification service (APNs), used only to deliver pickup alerts to your
  phone. App version, OS version, and language are logged with support tickets.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics tracking (Google Analytics, Meta pixel,
  etc.), or third-party marketing tools.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone outside
  Congregation Zeh L’Zeh for any purpose.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use the information

• To coordinate food-rescue pickups between donor stores and volunteer drivers.
• To notify you (via SMS, in-app push, or email) about pickups near you, changes to
  pickups you claimed, and office announcements.
• To show you your personal activity totals (pickups completed, miles driven, hours
  volunteered, stores served) and to export those totals as a CSV on request.
• To keep audit records of who picked up what and when — for our own operational
  needs and for grant / partner reporting in aggregate, de-identified form.

Who sees your information

• You can see your own profile, activity, and messages.
• Zeh L’Zeh coordinators and office staff see all volunteer profiles,
  the pickups you sign up for, live dispatch information, and pickup chat threads.
• The donor store whose pickup you claimed sees your first name,
  last name, and phone number so they can identify you and reach you if needed.
• Co-drivers on the same specific pickup can see your name and
  message you in the pickup chat.
• Service providers we use to run the App: TextMagic (SMS delivery),
  Google Firebase (Android push, if you have both), and our web hosting provider.
  These providers see only what they need to deliver their service — not the wider
  contents of your account.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Trip records
and pickup history are kept indefinitely for reporting and audit purposes but you can
request that your name be removed from historical records at any time
(see “Your rights” below).

Your rights

You can, at any time, request that we:

• Show you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is inaccurate.
• Delete your account and de-identify your historical activity.
• Stop sending you SMS or push notifications (also toggleable in-app under
  Profile → Notifications).

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data
from them. Volunteer accounts are for adults.

Security

All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are
salted and hashed with bcrypt. Access to our systems is limited to office staff who need
it to do their jobs.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of
this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in-app.
